Stewarding the Beginning of Each Day

The first moments of the day are the most important. In those early minutes, you set the tone, pace, and focus for the gift of the day that follows.
Ask yourself: Is your morning proactive or reactive? If your mornings feel rushed or chaotic, consider going to bed a little earlier so you can rise a little earlier. A hurried start creates a hurried spirit. A calm start creates a calm presence.
A steward is someone entrusted with something valuable. Every morning, God entrusts you with the gift and responsibility of a new day. How you choose to begin that day prepares the table—either for meaningful service or for frantic disorder.
As your newsletter coach, I want to challenge you with a question: How might your days, weeks, months, and years change if you intentionally stewarded the beginning of each day?
Here are a few practical suggestions to do just that!
Prayer, scripture meditation, and mindful gratitude toward God, the Giver of life.
Gentle movement and stretching to prepare your body for service.
Thoughtful nourishment—a healthy breakfast, maybe a cup of coffee, and a moment to appreciate the opportunities ahead.
Visualizing and preparing for key conversations and leadership moments on your schedule.
Choosing a few priorities to focus on. Not many—just a few. Leave space for what the day will bring. A handful of priorities, consistently addressed, creates a remarkable life.
You get the idea. Own the morning so you can serve with excellence throughout the day.
