How can you have a satisfying life? Do you feel like you’re just going through the motions? Dreading an upcoming party? Are you dreading your job? Are you feeling down, bored, and not happy?
Can you relate? If you are human, you probably can. You may be there right now. How do you typically handle times like these? Maybe you just ride them out and hope it doesn’t get too bad. Perhaps you throw in the towel and quit. I want to propose something different.
Note: This is simple, but not easy.
Choose to show up and participate 100%, no matter how you feel. Commit to getting all you can “from” the situation by fully participating, and not just surviving by getting “through” it. Refuse to coast. Give it your all. Choose who you want to be, and then be that person.
You create your own happiness, enjoyment, and satisfaction by choosing to be happy, joyous, and satisfied. It’s a mindset and a simple choice. Think about it. You will go to the cookout. You are going to continue to go to work. You will clean out the garage, and read the book, stay married, and have the necessary conversations. You will continue to take care of your mother, visit the hospital, go to the in-laws, babysit the children………
So since you are going to do all of it anyway ……… then why not CHOOSE to show up 100%, full of gratitude and joy, and then create a way to make it all a great and happy experience. Choose who you want to be and then be that person. It’s amazing how you will start to feel and what will happen.
Do people smile because they are happy, or are they happy because they smile? Are we thankful because we have so much, or are we richly blessed because we are thankful? Are you kind just to those who love you, or do you experience love continually because you choose to be kind to everyone?
Choose to BE happy, grateful, and engaged regardless of circumstances, and observe what happens! You’re headed for an amazing experience!
