Resignation

The root of the word “resign” is “sign”.  The verb sign goes back to the Latin derivative , signare, which means MARK.  Hence, your signature is your written MARK of commitment and agreement.

Resigning. It is cancelling your mark.  You quit.  You resign.  You remove your signature.

You had a pursuit, goal, and aspiration.  Now you’ve resigned.  You have dropped out, given up, canceled your commitment, and decided it’s not worth it.

Maybe, deep down, you regret that choice, and would like to sign up again and get reengaged.  Mistakes need not end in failure.  In fact, mistakes are often stepping stones to success.  Resignation need not be permanent.  Today is a new day.  You can begin with a fresh, new energy and outlook.

If you’ve been looking for a “sign” to get reengaged, well, here’s your sign.
